Sunrise and sunset (6)

These are images of sunrise and sunset taken around the U.S. A few of these images also appear in the Scenics galleries. When traveling to beautiful places it is hard to resist the urge to get out early and wait for the sun to rise. Sunsets can be equally magical. Dependent on the weather and changeable with the seasons, it's always fascinating to watch the scene change from minute to minute. As a result, we have hundreds of these images. A few of the best are presented here.

The pictures on this page are from Montana's Ninepipe NWR and Missouri Headwaters State Park, from Yellowstone National Park (Montana and Wyoming), and from Acadia National Park in Maine.
