Series (3)
The pictures in this gallery are "series"—pairs of photos of the same subject, taken at different seasons or periods in the life cycle. However, this page is a bit different from the rest of this gallery. Here we have a sequence of several images taken in the same area, several minutes apart. These exposures were made during sunrise from a point overlooking Flathead Lake and the Mission Mountains in northwestern Montana, U.S. The sequence begins at 6:30 AM and ends at 7:57 AM on 20 September 2009.

6:30 on a frosty September morning, the Mission Mountains and a sliver of Flathead Lake in NW Montana.
7:31 AM, from the same position as the previous photo, just as the sun appeared over the Mission Mountains.
7:37 AM, a bit closer to the small tree in the previous photo, just after the sun appeared over the mountains.
